CSD Big Game Recap

On Saturday, October 19 over a thousand people came to the annual Big Game, the Battle of California between CSD and CSDR. Both schools played in their 54th Volleyball and 40th Football game.

The day started with the CSD Eagles defeating CSDR Cubs, 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, and 25-10). This was CSD’s 23rd win in the all time series where the Cubs lead the series with 31 wins.

After the Volleyball game, there were booths set up from various school organizations and outside organizations. Mozzeria highlighted the day selling out their famous brick oven baked pizzas! Mozzeria is a pizza restaurant based in San Francisco, run by CSD alumni, Melody Tsai, ’92 and husband Russ Stein.

The football game started off with CSD quickly scoring touchdowns and soaring to a 49-0 halftime lead before completing the game with the final score of 62-0. The Eagles lead the series with 28 victories to the Cubs 12 in their 40th game.

In October 2014, the Eagles will be going south to Riverside for the the 55th Volleyball and 41st Football game in the Battle of California.
